As each of us in our varied lives journey, sometimes we will post photos, videos, or just thoughts of what we are going through. It is but one way we stay in touch.

hello
Love to all Goathairs -
Big and small -
telephoning or no call
maybe kicking a ball
loving Maine's leaves in fall
bounding down the hall
not found in the mall
sometimes banging head against wall
more often not tall
Love to all Goathairs -
found everywhere
sitting in chairs
running down stairs
hugging teddy bears
breathing the air
going to county fairs
trotting upstairs
sewing up tears
Love to all Goathairs -
in the spirit of Dr. Suess
making rhymes real loose
hope it gives your hearts a boost
and gives me a kick in the caboose
(to post more, darn it!!!)

It is nice to visit the blog and see that people have been by - leaving a message - makes the daily walk a little less of a grind knowing we are sharing.
I went kayaking Sunday afternoon with Jonathan - the greatest part of that was it MADE me spend 2 and a half hours cleaning them up as they have been stored under the screened porch for a long time and let's just say fist sized spiders came a tumbling out. We are now excited about taking other kayak trips - so I scouted Mallows Bay in Charles County:
And as you can see they sank almost 200 wooden ships at the end of World War I as they did not know what else to do with them. There will soon be a public access landing - it is being built right now. But this is what I found as I tried to hike down:

One more thing
I decided to wash dishes and turned on the radio to WNYC and really beautiful music is playing (see below)
Johann Johannsson live at Le Poisson Rouge
Icelandic composer Johann Johannsson blends acoustic and electronic, old-style and high-tech, organic and synthetic sounds into a romantically rhapsodic musical experience.
Crap it's June
Hey Everybody - not much to say except i miss you all and am doing nothing but working - really.
We are starting this campaign called Our Cities, Ourselves, that culminates with the opening of an exhibit at the end of June. Wow - it is a lot of work to do this - we are all joking if we knew it was going to be this much work, we would have never done it : ) Also at the end of June, we are planning a mini-staff meeting, a whole bunch of events, and then the move (we are moving offices and i can't wait).
So lately, i am working all day and night - this weekend i worked both days - although saturday morning i exercised. Although on Saturday i went to the office and that was a boon because it is air conditioned and my apartment is not. I have two fans directed at me and i do not move from this place - or else i have to drag my fans with me : )
And now i am taking a break to do bills (booo) and wash some dishes (booo) and touch base (yay).
Random pictures for the day:

Movin' In
So, after about five days into the new apartment, we've pretty much got everything settled. Gotta pick up a few things from the old apartment, but all the bulky items are in. So here's a treat. Some pics of the new apartment. Forgive me if any of the pics are blurry, curse you camera phone! And forgive some of the messes, like I said, we're still moving/cleaning
Here's what he neighborhood looks like.

Our front porch.

Front Foyer. Oi those stairs were a menace to get stuff up there!

The front room. It's in a messy state right now, but we're going to let one of Jon's friends move in here for a while.

The middle room which is our living room. The hose to the left is our vacuum in case you were wondering.

Another view of the living room.

Kitchen. Along the top is Jon's collection of teas and wine bottles.

Another view of the kitchen.

Laundry in the kitchen.

Back deck.

And we've got an enclosed backyard. Not much, but the gate can open up and we can park cars in here. And we have a grill and had a great cookout with some of Jon's friends the other night and ate out on the back deck. Oh and the bleached out table was the old dining room table left in the apartment. Jon and I tried to sand it down and make it into his new desk, but gave up since there were some pretty deep cuts in it.

Our blurry shower.

Bathroom

And finally my room. I have a sweet sunroof which gives me great lighting throughout the day.

And my bed. In the dark corner is my closet and faintly you can see Jon's dresser in the left side. It was so heavy to move up to the second floor and the second floor corridor was too narrow to squeeze into Jon's bedroom, so we put it in my room.

Don't have pics of Jon's and Alex's rooms. They're still unpacking and Alex just left for a few weeks, so I didn't want to intrude into their rooms.
But that's my new apartment in a nutshell.
