As each of us in our varied lives journey, sometimes we will post photos, videos, or just thoughts of what we are going through. It is but one way we stay in touch.

perigee and apogee

Friday night walking home, I felt that i couldn't escape the moon. Its light always found me snaking among the streets of Brooklyn. And then I realized why. The perigee moon.

Yesterday, I went to the Museum of Modern Art. There was an exhibit on music. A lot of it was the influence of hip hop on art and art on hip hop.

Kraftwerk - Trans Europe Express - 1977 - one of the most influential pioneers in electronic music

Sampled byAfrica Bambaataa in Planet Rock 1986 (although in the video they look like the village video of hip hop instead of the grandfather hip hop)

Sampled again in Jay-Z's (always be my) Sunshine - 1997

It was fun to hear how one song sounds so different when mixed in with others.

Graffitti artists (The Fabulous 5) inspired by the downtown art scene (Andy Warhol's Campbell Soup) and then inspiring Keith Haring

and then I went to the Women in Photography exhibit:

These were some of my favorite photos.

And then I went to Ari's and John's for bridge night. We are getting better but still kinda dumb when it comes to bidding. At least we are learning. We had girl scout cookies and chinese take out. And we went to the see the moon. The closest the moon has been to us in a long time and the closest we will be in the time coming.

these are dispatches from New York - work has been challenging as we are working towards firing a couple of people and that is always poopy. Everyone feels maxxed out too. Been stressful but I am compensating by being really surly and grumpy at work. Well done, Aimee, well done
