As each of us in our varied lives journey, sometimes we will post photos, videos, or just thoughts of what we are going through. It is but one way we stay in touch.

This Day Is TOO Hot

Home again - to give you an idea how good life is - I packed my car for a two week trip to Maine to visit my sister etc. - drove toward Annapolis - thought only 9 more hours - turned around and drove home. So I drove over to Woodbridge and visited with Danielle and the kids. Now I am sitting on my back screened porch - it is cooling down nicely and I am listening to crickets - serious noise. Oh yes - the fireflies are out.

Lynn and I got our walk in at 8:30 in the AM - and it was already HOT. The real reason I turned around was not the thought of fried clams or lobster (oh the thought of fried clams and lobster - - - mmmmmmmmm) no, it is I need to get back to business and stop all the running away from it - seriously - so there.

No One Really Cares

I hate american idol - two years in a row they pick the safe and marketable versus the talented and controversial - it is rigged - just like the BP oil spill - only has to do with martket - what sells. To hell with it. I am changing channels - you wait. New Zealand is the answer.

Oh yeah - I am changing channels - there is no voting america anywhere - look what they do every two years for Cingress. Nuff said.

New Zealand. Seriously.

Not that anyone here will care or comment.

putting up a force field against form field (boxes)

working on this proposal for a project on east africa and it makes me want to smash my computer - the proposal form has these auto format field text boxes and it is stupid - i hate it. so in a fit of protest, here are some photos - messages from my city. (i am not sure i am making any sense)

and my favorite:

Making Fun Of Fat Fingers (golas)

Blame the buffets - plus I type too fast - pity the fool.

GOOOOOLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAA

I hope Jonathan blocks lots of golas and defeats the mordocks.

Michigan's team is known as the big blue and i used to love to say (in a deep loud yell) - BIG (drawn out for emphasis) BLUE (short staccato)
so today i will randomly shout it as i stomp around my apartment procrastinating on laundry.

and i take it back - the big bamboo nest is for the spaghetti monsters - big and small - looking awesome Reed.

Lewis Black - who he!?!?!?!

I took it down - too political I guess. Reed has started a blog for his senior project Reed's Senior Blog and is really cool!!! Proud of that young man - and wow you should see Jonathan play soccer - best defender out there - saved at least 3 golas yesterday as Big Blue (my name for the team - I am the head cheerleader) beat for the second time the first place team. Today is the LAST game of the season. I might bring a camera. Love you all - keep in touch and only sleep on clean sheets - whatever.

what happened to lewis black?

hey lovely people, just writing to say hi. not much happening here except work.

I do have a new favorite song -
Sonny and the Sunsets "Too Young to Burn"
so to last fm thing dad sent and you can hear them or click above to hear on youtube
(it's the lackadaisical handclapping that is really speaking to me : )

They are building a giant bamboo nest for prehistoric birds on top of the Metropolitan Museum of Art - no not really for dinosaurs - it is for people - an evolving exhibit - sounds cool

i changed my sheets - so that is pretty nifty. What else...what else...doing laundry (which is my kryptonite but i will defeat it!)

oh i will be adding some photos later - just wanted to say hhheeeeeeeeyyyyyy
love you - a

Okay Wunderkind - It's ON

I found this interesting online radio station (one ad appear the first time you launch - Crest Toothpaste - go figure) and then you type in an artist's name and you can either then listen to random playlist of that artist or a radio station with similar artists - and that is fascinating!!! You hear some really interesting bands from around the world.

Here tis http://www.last.fm/

flowers of africa (at least this trip)

New Friends - erh - Old Friends

Suddenly over the past few days I have received a flood of friend requests from a group of former students from like a million years ago - they all graduated from Calvert High School in 1972 - yikes - they must be really old. (Small voice in my left ear - hey duker - this Fall you are planning to attend your high school class reunion - yeah - your 50th year class reunion.) Pity the fool.

But I have really enjoyed learning of the variety of these former students and how interesting a life they have led. Sort of a new benefit of Facebook and there are not many.

Danielle

Great song

I love this song... it is my inspiration and hope song... a reminder to myself that when I feel like I am the only one with a "GASH" that all of us are in one way or another dealing with a "GASH" and each goes on.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0I_4N0fTCSQ

Is that gash in your leg
Really why you have stopped?
‘Cause I’ve noticed all the others
Though they’re gashed, they’re still going
‘Cause I feel like the real reason
That you’re quitting, that you’re admitting
That you’ve lost all the will to battle on

Will the fight for our sanity
Be the fight of our lives?
Now that we’ve lost all the reasons
That we thought that we had

Still the battle that we’re in
Rages on till the end
With explosions, wounds are open
Sights and smells, eyes and noses
But the thought that went unspoken
Was understanding that you’re broken
Still the last volunteer battles on
Battles on
Battles on

Yes indeed

I am still breathing over here in awful VA.

VA is for lovers, my big behind.

i start counseling next week. Yeah for me. I think I need to do something. I seem to be stuck in a rut again. But I am not full of despair. (I was a few weeks ago). I feel the tides of change coming.

So please forgive my lack of communication. I love you all VERY much!

Happy Mother's Day

I know the surprise was interesting but I thought knowing you would like to have more involvement with the whole process - so I have placed at the following location:

Happy Mother's Day

a whole set of original source photos that you can page through and if you want may download whichever photos you want to your computer (to print out etc.).

A lot of the early pix are Casio digital images that were 320x240 so they are really small. I hope you enjoy the memories - I certainly have!!

Thanks for being the BEST MOMS ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cartoons of the Week

Cartoons of the Week

Got a new blog rolling

I created a blog for my senior film. I'll hopefully be updating it with new stuff from time to time. A fellow animation friend suggested this so that if I get others involved in my project, I can easily show them my stuff in one simple place. And I can also keep others (like my family :D) up to date with what I'm doing in school.

Check it out!

The more things change - the more they stay the same

Today I am back on track bringing to life my man, Eugene Benoit. And I hope you will listen to a live performance of my new favorite singer (Anouk) with her signature song. Enjoy!!!!

New Favorite Song - Anouk- Lost - Live!!

And if you press the right mouse button on top of the above link - you can save the mp3 to your computer - but hey I didn't tell you to do this!!!

NEW neW NeW nEw new

That's about as many ways as I can tell all that there is a lot NEW going on. I am actually not doing ANY distractions - no photos, no websites, no buffets, no side trips, nada - only focusing on the work at hand. And this new that is so damned new? Moving forward with the damned novel.

New Favorite Song - Anouk-The Difference

It is like I told Lynn: "I have been reading my typewritten (IBM Selectric - latest Technology - hrumph)journal and I don't know that I should keep it. The mind takes this forgotten tinder and explodes it into way to brightly remembered memories, and quite frankly I am not sure I want to remember those times."

So that is what is new - getting rid of the old and sparking the new!! Oh yes, I have lost 6 pounds.

aimee in addis

howdy - in a rare moment when the stars have aligned - the internet works and is not heartbreakingly slow (i could even log in this this time), i am not being pestered by people trying to get answers from me that i do not know, there is relative calm - i decided to just say hi - from ethiopia - where the food is great and they have a coffee ceremony that involves popcorn - i mean really do i need to say more - this is where i am meant to be.

Annie forced me to stop working and go to the largest market in africa (however, everyone says that they have the largest market...)
it was great - so packed and crazy and lovely - people walking around with two chickens hanging from their hand, donkeys, lots of people. You can get anything there - we visited the garment district, the religious curios district, the food and agriculture, home goods, etc. Amazing.

as much as i would love to post pix, the internet, while at least up, is still super duper slow.

love you all and hope the weather is as nice there as it is here -a
